The Samsung Gear S2, The First Round Intelligent Watch

Samsung seems excited about her new intelligent watch, the S2 Gear. The model, shown briefly at the Galaxy Note 5 AD Conference and the S6 Edge +, now gained its own video on YouTube, with the highlight of the company finally embrace the round design.

The travelationary.com shows a metallic bracelet and it is also possible to note some optimized applications for the small rounded screen in the video, including one for the weather forecast, time zone information, a stopwatch and a physical activity monitor, plus a sensor for the heartbeat.

The S2 gear looks diametrically different from the original gear S, which counted on a cellular signal that allowed to speak on the phone, send messages and access the Internet without relying on integration with a smartphone. The new appliance must not have any of it. The interface itself has been modified, including now a round iconography, something that has become a very strong brand of Apple Watch, its archrival.

The video doesn’t make it clear if Samsung will continue to invest in Tizen as a platform for their watches or will embrace Android Wear as most of their competitors do. It is also not clear the size of the product, which can be a huge differential; Smartwatches round calls more attention in general, but it has been large and bulky, which does not always guarantee a comfortable use.
